It was announced last night that Joel Embiid has been named the Most Valuable Player in the NBA for the 2022-23 season. Embiid had an incredible season this year finishing the year with a league best 33.1 points per game as well as 10.2 rebounds per game which was 8th best in the league this year.
It’s about time Embiid wins the MVP after those fools failed to get it right the past few years, those clowns have been naming him runner up. It’s a well deserved win that came with a landslide of the votes. Embiid got 73 votes while former 2X MVP Nikola Jokic and another 2X MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo both got 15 and 12 votes respectively.
The 76ers themselves are currently in a series against the Boston Celtics which they won 119-116 without Embiid in the lineup. Embiid is questionable for game two, but our victory with out him and a 1-0 lead to start the series gives me great confidence that we can win and move on to the next round.
