Last week the Philadelphia 76ers completed a sweep of the Brooklyn Nets after a 96-88 victory in Game 4. The series win makes the 76ers the first Eastern Conference team to make it to the second round, and they will face either the Boston Celtics or the Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics are the #2 seed and currently lead their series against the Hawks 3-2; therefore the most likely scenario is that the Celtics will be team that the 76ers face next round. That being said you shouldn’t count out Trae Young and the Hawks just yet, you never know what could happen.
However, Game 4 of the Brooklyn series was not significant only because of the fact that it was the end of the series it was also a game that did not feature our marquee player Joel Embiid. Embiid suffered a sprained knee and was ruled out of the game and it is still unclear as to when he will return. If he doesn’t return soon it could spell trouble especially if our next round opponent is the Boston Celtics, an opponent we struggled with in the regular season. I don’t think that it’s an exaggeration to say that the Philadelphia 76ers’ playoff hopes are contingent upon Joel Embiid’s recovery;therefore, I’d like to wish Mr. Embiid a speedy recovery.
Let’s Go Sixers!!!!
