It was announced yesterday night that the Phoenix Suns made a blockbuster deal to acquire Superstar forward Kevin Durant. The trade deal sends Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, and Mikal Bridges plus a bunch of draft picks to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Kevin Durant. This comes as a surprise as I personally didn’t even know that the Nets were even that serious about shopping KD. This move, plus the recent departure of Kyrie Irving to Dallas, pretty much solidified the fact that the Nets are shifting into rebuilding mode. The Nets super team that formed three years ago has now been completely dissolved, and looking back on it now it never really delivered on the expectations that people had for it. Now Phoenix will be contending for a title while Brooklyn looks to rebuild through the draft. Personally I’m just happy to get Kyrie and KD out of the East so the 76ers don’t have to play them that often anymore.
