Drexel Women’s Basketball To Kick Off Conference Play Tonight

Tonight the Drexel women’s basketball team will take on UNC Wilmington in their first CAA conference game of the season. Drexel will come into this game after winning three straight games against Dartmouth, Penn State, and Delaware State. They come into tonight’s match up against UNCW with a record of 8-3.

Star player Keishana Washington scored 21 points in her last outing against Delaware State making it her ninth game this season with 20+ points. Hetta Saatman had a tremendous 4 blocks in that game making it her eighth straight game with a block and her third game of the year with 3 or more blocks. From top to bottom Drexel’s roster has looked incredible the past few weeks, especially considering that they had a season high 22 bench points last game. It just goes to show that all of Drexel’s players have contributed in their recent success.

UNC Wilmington comes into this game 3-8 with the lowest points per game in the conference. On the surface it seems like this will be a relatively easy win for Drexel, especially considering that Drexel is 31-8 all-time against UNCW. That being said I doubt that they would overlook their opponent, especially in a conference game.

Keishana Washington has been playing so well that she has been recognized as the national player of the week twice. Add to that her nation leading 28.7 points per game, and we can expect her to go off for another great game tonight. I’m looking forward to checking out this game and hopefully see another Drexel win.
