It would finally seem that Gervonta Davis is finally set to face Ryan Garcia, in a match that has been highly anticipated among fight fans. Ryan Garcia (27-0), has long been criticized for not facing any tough opponents, and has even been accused of avoiding the fight against Gervonta Davis (23-0). Davis is a champion at 135 and Garcia holds a title at 130, but the fight will apparently be held at 135 and I would suspect that it will be for Davis’s title belt. Although it has not been announced whether or not a title will be on the line for this fight or not. If I’m being honest I don’t really understand that much how boxing titles even work anymore. I mean I think anybody who becomes a professional boxer gets a few complimentary titles, or something like that.
Now the fight between Davis and Garcia is set for April 15, 2023 in Paradise, Nevada, but that won’t be Tank Davis’s next fight. His next will be against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 in Washington D.C., a fight where his lightweight title will be on the line. While Davis will have a fight before he faces Ryan Garcia; Garcia himself has announced that he will refrain from taking any fights before his bout against Davis.
This fight is something that fight fans have been looking forward to for some time now. In my estimation Gervonta Davis will be the odds on favorite in this fight, and to be honest, if you ask me Ryan Garcia is probably going to get his ass kicked by Tank. He’s just had tougher competition and seems to me to be a more elite fighter. That being said we won’t know until we see the fight, and I for one am looking forward to an excellent match.
