Drexel Women’s Basketball Team Set to take on Penn State

Tomorrow at 2:00 pm the Drexel Women’s Basketball team will take on Penn State at home in Philadelphia. The most exciting part of the game will be watching Drexel’s top player, and seeing if she can continue her dominate run.

The Lady Dragon’s Keishana Washington is averaging 28.1 points per game which is tops in NCAA Division I and are more than four PPG better than the current school record of 23.5, set by Gabriela Marginean in 2009-10. With 253 points in eight contests, she could also challenge Marginean’s mark of 769 points in a season, set in 2008-09. Last year, Washington made some history of her own, recording just the fifth season for a DU player with 600 or more points, finishing with 654. Drexel will be hoping that Washington keeps up her elite level scoring in the game against Penn State, and leads the team to victory.

The Lady Dragons come into this game 6-3 and one of the top teams in the CAA, Penn State will come into the game 8-3. This in-state matchup will be a significant notch in the belt for the winner of this game. This game is the seventh meeting all-time between the Dragons and Nittany Lions with Penn State holding a 4-2 series lead. DU won the most recent game against PSU at the DAC, 83-60 on November 11, 2016.

Here’s hoping that Drexel gets the victory in the game tomorrow afternoon. We will be at the game tomorrow covering the action at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
