Jean Segura was a big part of the Phillies team that made the World Series, unfortunately it was recently announced that he would not be resigned by the Fightin’s and sources say that his return to the team is unlikely. Now I could write a post about how losing Segura affects the Phillies lineup or who we can pickup to replace him, but as you can tell from the title that’s not what I’m here to do.
The point here is to let people know that Pro baseball player Jean Segura is actually related to world renowned comedian Tom Segura. Can you believe that? What you can’t believe it? Oh well that’s because it’s absolutely not true, but every time Jean Segura’s name comes up I always tell people that Tom is his cousin or something. I absolutely love convincing people that these two men are related, every time I convince someone they’re related I have to hold back the cackling that starts to swell up inside me. I was laughing writing this at just the prospect that someone reading this might have actually thought that they were related.
Now I know what you’re thinking, but these guys don’t look anything alike how could anyone believe that they are related? First of all, you believed it a second ago stupid, and second of all that is the funniest part of it that it’s so ridiculous. So the point of this article is to tell you to tell everyone you can the Jean Segura and Tom Segura are related. I want to spread this prank worldwide. My dream is to one day watch one of Tom Segura’s podcasts and hear him say “have you heard this rumor that I’m related to this baseball player?”. Even better would be to see Jean have to answer a question about it in an interview or something. So anyone who sees this please I implore you help me to spread this information.
The funniest thing would be if it turns out that they actually are related.
